On the phone. I wanna give you guys knowledge to exactly what your getting and passing up. Mav's "I hate trolling" thing has kinda rubbed off on me. I don't want anyone to feel cheated.
Stone - Lava release, Katon element, earth element, and a small amount of other elements. Blast release can be obtained, but in the form of a genin that needs time to grow. But it will definitely be worth it in the end. Scrolls will become valuable. You'll be given the option to try and steal scrolls for your ninja's elemental jutsu.
Mist - Suiton release, a few boot leg legendary swords. Many missing nin to choose from. An original legendary sword can be picked, but will be wielded by a genin.
Samurai - This place will give you a lot of powerful single units to choose from, instead of teams. i.e. Swordsman with elemental enhanced weapons. Samurai with extremely fast swordplay (think kenshin.) And many that wield swords with different abilities (like legendary swords, but the samurai use special jutsu from the sword, rather than the sword having an ability.) Standard samurai team can also be picked. Beginner samurai with potential steroids can also be recruited.
Leaf - Like I said, think close to canon. A lot of options to choose from.
Lightning - A lot of close range and long range fighters. Lightning enhanced swords and fists. As well as long range raiton jutsu. Fighters good at close and mid range. Speed is pretty important here. Speed demons can be recruited , but also in the form of a genin.

Well now... maybe we do need to think more about this choice.

Eff it, I'm voting to go to the Land of Iron. It's unexplored territory and single powerful units means leading commanders for our fodder. Sounds like going to Kiri for legendary swordsmen, but more specialized in kenjutsu + sword ninjutsu.

Sweet, I'm getting a flashback of Dynasty Warriors from this CYOA.
We've got 9 people in our army at the moment, including the main character. He and the Kakashi-jounin are what I'm thinking are the two commanders. It seems that since we've been going for a balanced style, we're not specializing in either long or short range but instead being satisfactory in both. I'm thinking that our sensors also have a few long range jutsu (since they're staying in the back giving intel) that are mainly for support also?
I'm thinking that we need some brawlers that can go up close and personal? Unless you guys want to cover another aspect of combat.

Voting for Stone. The Blast release will be invaluable in the future, where the difficulty will surely go up.

Really sorry for the delay.
3, 4, 6- Kakashi type. Land of Earth, village hidden in rocks.
Your next destination has been decided. The village hidden in rocks. Luckily, it's very close to the sand village. You lead your men north.
The Jounin, Ishakak (terrible name), stands behind you. Behind him is the balanced four man team. With their special Jounin, Kiru, leading them. The two sensors walk in the back.
Your already familiar with their abilities. Ishakak is a versitile fighter. He has a large amount of elemental and normal jutsu, ok genjutsu, and superb taijutsu. His chakra pool is lacking, though.
Kiru is also a pretty versatile fighter. He's wind natured and is dangerous at close and mid range. The rest of his team are also close-mid ranged fighters.
The sensors in the back are used mostly for recon, but still have a small amount of man power. The main sensor in the middle has a range of about 500 meters. The one on the right is a tracker. His ability lets him take a very small portion of chakra from someone's body, which lets him follow the original source of the chakra. He must touch the person in order to take their chakra. His taijutsu is some what useful, 3.5/5. The final member of the sensor/recon team is a shadow clone user. He has enough chakra control to have his clones use their own jutsu. Weather it be a henge, or an offensive jutsu. He can make up to five clones, and is the most capable fighter in the recon team.
You travel through the land of wind. Passing by many towns. You stop and rest at a few inns. You all travel like normal travelers, which slows you down considerably. After a few days you make it to the border of the country. Huge mountain ranges are around the land of earth. They're a very useful natural strong hold for this country. You pass by a few waterfalls as well. You buy new clothes as soon you can. To make it easier to blend in. The mountains make it a little difficult to travel. However a few bridges help you reach your destination faster.
After some walking, you make it right outside the village hidden in rocks. This time, you don't enter the village. You lead your men to a marked spot, then quickly perform a string of hand seals, and the group drops down underground. You land in a tunnel. With a village full of earth users, it's fairly easy to construct tunnels like this. Your spies made sure to keep the barrier from going off, even while underground.
The tunnel has zero vision. It's total darkness. You make one seal and the earth in the entire tunnel gives off a bright light. The team begins walking. Following you every step. You make a few turns until you finally arrive at your destination.
Four teams stand in front of you now. You take of your hood and reveal your face. Then you give the usual hand signal. One man has his hands together and his eyes closed, sensing your chakra. He nods to other men. There's a brief silence for about half a minuet. Then the men step forward and begin following you. You turn around and lead them out of the tunnel.
Pick four. Three will join you, one will have to stay behind and act as your insider(s).
1. Four Katon users. One special jounin, three chunnin. 2. Four Doton users. One special Jounin, three chunnin. 3. Two Katon, two earth. One special Jounin, three chunnin. 4. One lava realease Jounin. Also uses Katon and Doton. 5. Four lava release Chunnin. Also use Katon and Doton. 6. Earth sensors. Use the earth for sensor jutsu. Three chunnin. 7. Mud earth users. Doton release, but with a strong focus on mud jutsu. One special Jounin, three chunnin.
8. Terrain supplementary earth users. Can change the terrain to your favor at any time. Can create defensive mountains. Make underground tunnels, and send units underground their for protection. Create a base/hideout. Can basically change the battlefield/terrain in almost any way you want. Lack offensive power. One special Jounin, two chunnin.
9. Blast release genin. a. Uses metal to make explosive creations. Can create chakra infused animals, weapons, fake shinobi, constructs, ect. From metal, explodes on command.
b. Long range tactical jutsu, uses earth as material. Can send land mines underground. Uses scope sensor jutsu to see a fair amount of range ahead. Once a target is locked, he fires an array of explosive earth jutsu at the target. (think tactical sniper.)
c. Close range blast release. Uses close range OHKOs, but Lacks any AoE attacks.

Vote 4, 5, 8, 9B (the jounin is staying)
Terrain advantages are important in strategy rpgs as are long range snipers who are necessary to pick off healers. I think the jounin can take care of himself in stone village while the lower level ninja level up while they're with us.

G. Getsugakure - Hidden Village under the Moon
I've always wanted to be part of an unknown village. It is canon by the way. See Chapter 43, page 19.

0. MC 1. Balanced team. 4 man, three Chunnin, one special Jounin (leader is Kiru, a wind user, whole team are close/mid range fighters) 2. Recon/Sensor team. 3 man, three Chunnin (sensor's range is 500 meters, tracker (with 3.5 in taijutsu) can track someone's chakra by touching the target, shadow clone user can make 5 clones). 3. One Jounin (name is Ishakak, a Kakashi type, large range of elemental ninjutsu, ok genjutsu, superb taijutsu, lacking chakra pool) 4. One lava release Jounin. Also uses Katon and Doton (staying at Stone village) 5. Four lava release Chunnin. Also use Katon and Doton. 6. Terrain supplementary earth users. Can change the terrain to your favor at any time. Can create defensive mountains. Make underground tunnels, and send units underground their for protection. Create a base/hideout.
