The Land of the Rising Sun. Japan. A powerhouse that blends tradition with the modern day. A country that prides itself in a hard work ethic. You were born and raised in this island country, which was not prepared for what was about to happen. Then again, neither was the rest of the world.
Now is not the time for this ominous talk. That's looming in the future, and we're focused on the now. Who are you?
A. A high school student. One of the many youth that has their whole life ahead of them. You work hard to get good grades for college and be a prominent member of your club. Everyone needs an aspiration.
B. A corporate employee. You've been at your job for some time, and your work doesn't seem to get recognized around the place. You work hard because you strive to get a promotion, but it seems like you're stuck in your current position.
C. An idol. You showed a love of singing and dancing at a young age, and your parents milked that love, along with the manager they hooked you up with. You work hard to appease your fans and bring happiness to many people with your sparkling attitude and voice. Even if some of them are creepy.
D. Unfortunately, a hikkikomori. All that stuff about hard work? Nuts to that! It's not like you asked for this, but society stacked burden after burden on you while closing in, and the pressure was too unbearable to deal with. You managed to get through school, but you've locked yourself in your apartment, afraid to deal with the outside world.

You were a high school student in Katsuka Academy. The school tried to sound prestigious by calling itself an academy, but no, it was an ordinary high school. Still, your junior high school experience was a good one, and so far things looked to be better here.
Tell us a bit about yourself. Are you... 1A. A boy? 1B. A girl? Also, I'm sure you have a name. Japanese, please.
How's the family? 2A. Both parents. 2B. Only one parent (specify mother or father). 3A. Only child. 3B. Younger sibling (specify brother or sister). 3C. Older sibling (specify brother or sister).
What do you look like? Not really any choices here, just give me a basic description. This isn't anime, so you'll probably look rather plain.
Ah, the school life. What grade are you in? 4A. Year one. You're still getting used to these new experiences! 4B. Year two. Middle of the road. Still plenty of time to enjoy the school life. 4C. Year three. This is your last year... the pressure of college looms in the distance.
How's the education going? 5A. Studying has certainly paid off! You're high up on the grades list. 5B. So-so. It definitely could be worse, but you're doing a good job. Good, not great. 5C. Well... you're at least trying.
Rank these broad categories from your favorite to least favorite. Or, if that's too much work, just give me a favorite and least favorite: Club, English, Japanese, Math, PE, Science, Social Studies
Social life? 6A. You're quite popular. You don't know exactly how, but hey, you're not complaining. 6B. You're pretty familiar with your fellow classmates, and you have a few friends. 6C. You're a wallflower. You have very few friends.
Tired of these questions? Well, we have one more. What club did you join? You don't get letter choices. There are many clubs. We have sports clubs featuring the many kinds of sportsball, track, swimming, judo, kendo and culture clubs that focus on one of the academic subjects and then things like art, drama, calligraphy, broadcasting, music... So many choices, but at least you just have to pick one.

Razan sighed and glanced up at the ceiling momentarily before returning to his notebook to continue taking notes. Math. I just had to be math that was the last class of the day. At least it was usually the last obstacle before his favorite part of school, which was music club. But it was his turn to clean up the classroom at the end of the day, which would shorten his time there.
The bell rang, and he sighed with relief. He wasn't looking forward to doing these equations when he got home. While he did pretty well in his other courses, math was the one he really had to work at to get good grades in. And to think math would only get harder for the two years he had left...
He shook those terrible thoughts out of his mind as he joined the other students in packing everything up for the day. Only this time he set his backpack aside once it was full, and went over to get a broom and dustpan. Most of the students filed out of the classroom, leaving only three others in the room with him. Striking up a chat with one of them while cleaning would certainly make things go by faster...
A. Speak with Satoshi. He was one of the nerdier kids in the class, but Razan had gotten quite a bit of help from him in math.
B. Speak with Haruka. Razan hadn't really spoken with her all that much, but she was in the music club with him.
C. Speak with Yui. She was a shyer girl, and the fact that she had been wearing a medical mask all day did spike Razan's curiosity.

"Hello, Ono," Razan said as he walked up to Haruka and began helping her clean the area she was next to. She was a bit taller than most girls your grade, and she had a sharp look in her eyes. Razan had never seen her with her hair down-- she always kept it up in a ponytail.
"Oh, Tatsubari. Hey," she said, not sounding too pleased at Razan's sudden presence. What a great made to make acquaintances with people. At least Harula didn't seem to mind his help that much.
It may be a good idea to make small talk with her, but with that attitude of hers... Razan wondered if it was worth it...
A. Compliment her clarinet skills.
B. Ask her about Yui's mask.
C. Hit on her.
D. If she's going to be like that then go talk to someone else.

"Look, Ono... I know we don't know each other very well, but I know you're pretty good with the clarinet," Razan started.
"Is this your attempt at hitting on me?" Haruka asked with a derisive stare.
"No! Not at all! I'm just wondering if you wanted to jam with Teru, Miyuki, and I," he replied.
"Oh? You mean Yanagi and Goda?" Haruka asked. That's right... she wouldn't be familiar enough with them to know them by their first names.
"That's right."
"I don't know... I'm going to be pretty busy tonight," she said without a moment to consider the offer.
A. Pressure her some more.
B. Change the subject.
C. Go talk with Satoshi instead.
D. Go talk with Yui instead.

"Busy enough that twenty minutes after the club will take up too much time?" Razan asked, determined to get another player in on his little improv group.
"Now that you remind me, yes," Haruka said dryly. Razan couldn't tell if she was being sincere or was just trying to get him to leave.
"Maybe some other time, then," he said as he finished helping her clean her area of the classroom. She nodded, grabbed her backpack, and quickly left the room. Razan wasn't so sure if it was worth asking her another time.
A. Talk with Satoshi.
B. Talk with Yui.
C. The room is clean enough now. Just go to music club.
