A: Take his offer, solve his "ordeal" Bad option. It was already stated.
B: Tell him you'll take the way everyone else reaches enlightenment ...may be too bold. However, it's fair in a way.
C: Refuse to play his games outright Too bold.
D: Turn the tables on him, you offer him a challenge, if you win his one riddle, it's over. If you lose, well... you better get used to your surroundings Part of me feels like its right but part of me feels like it's bold.
Mav, is it fair to ask whether one of the non-free wills is a good answer?
Edit: FYI, I'm leaning towards D with B in 2nd.

A - seems like the worst option, enlightenment isn't something that can be rushed, and trying to do so is just greedy
B - seems like the best choice to me, this realm is about moderation, and this choice seems to be the closest to a middle ground
C - doesn't seem like it would go along with the goal of this realm
D - not sure if this is good or bad, feels like a complete gamble to me
Leaning towards B, but could be convinced of D.

Voting B
This seems to be the most fair answer.

There's actually a safe answer here AND a good answer.
The safe answer could turn into a shit storm however. It's safe in that it will get you through this round without a problem, but it could land you in some hot water next round.

Well, that description seems to fit D perfectly, so I'll go with B.

Pretty hot. Not the good kind of hot either, you know, the kind you eventually get used to?
Definitely not jacuzzi hot.

"The interesting thing about these realms?" you ask, a little bit of cockiness to your voice. "You're all very predictable. The minute I get in through the door, it's immediately a test. As if I would immediately forget everything I learned from the moment I stepped in... As if that's not bad enough, then I got to look at a room full of long necked freaks who can't help but gawk at me. Is it my eyes? Is that what has you all so interested?"
You step away from the Preta with a slight sneer. You look at the rest of the room, at these... things. You feel their insatiable hunger. It's in many forms, lust, addiction, greed... Tons of negativity, and depravity that knows no limits...
"I am going to do this, the same way I did it before," you answer confidently. "I'm doing this with no cheap tricks, no deals. Nothing. You guys can continue playing house if you want. But this, all this here. It's all fake. You can lie to yourselves all you want, but you're nothing but a base instinct, not even an emotion. You're all rabid dogs, hungry for the steak a stranger threw at you. But your leash is too tight, and you'll NEVER know satisfaction. Life's a bitch isn't it? Or at least, your afterlife is. Get out of my way, Preta. I have no interest in you, or your dealings. I will make my own path".
The Preta changes forms, it's neck growing to enormous lengths, far longer than his comrades. His mouth opens wide showing sharp, and even broken teeth. His saliva is thick, and threads from the top of his mouth to his jaw like a twisted spider's web. You look at his toxic green eyes as he bares down on you. You don't move a muscle.
"Stupid, pretentious, ignorant! MORTAL! Who are you to judge us?" the Preta demands as he inches his right claws closer to you.
You look at his claws suspiciously before switching your attention back to his face and those sickly green eyes.
"We done here?" you ask sarcastically. "Or are you going to try to eat me now? If you eat me, I'm afraid I'll give you awful indigestion".
The Preta's eyes flash with fear before disappearing. You turn your head instinctively to your side. Everyone, everything, is gone. You're literally standing in a white room, with no visible walls, no floor or ceiling... It's all very... sterile. You look around and ponder this situation. From beyond you, you hear the voices of what sounds like 3 women, older women. They argue and cackle deviously. It's a lead, you suppose.
You walk towards where you think the noise is coming from and before you know it, you're transported to a foreign land. You don't recognize this at all... it's not even mimicking anything you've ever seen on any map. The green plains have intense greenery, and the path winds into what seems to be a valley. You follow it further and see three old hags around a cauldron, stirring it. You almost recoil when you see that the hags have no eyes at all, not even sockets. They instinctively stir the cauldron as they bicker amongst themselves.
"My sisters... a fresh one comes to boil," the hag on the left says as she holds up a perfectly round crystal. It reminds you of quartz, but it's quality is amazing. "He's pretty he is!"
"Give it to me Helga!" the one in the middle says as she fights for control of the crystal. Helga, the one on the left reluctantly gives up the orb to the middle sister. "He's far too young! What could we do with such young meat?"
"Shut your mouth Winifred!" the third sister, the one on the right commands. She too grabs the orb and holds it up to her eyeless face. "Hmmm... he seems too much of a goody goody to do us any good".
Alright... The orb is definitely the way they "see", you think to yourself... But this is all about moderation... You have three hags in front of you... Is this a test or a distraction?
"What's your name, if I may ask?" you say to the sister on the right. "Pardon me for being so ignoble, but I couldn't help but be impressed with your features".
"You hear that Ruma!?" Helga asks with a smile on her face. "The pretty one has got it going for you!"
Winifred wrestles the orb from Ruma's grasp before placing it up to her face again.
"Hmpfh, I still say he's too young to eat," Winifred reports.
"Who would want to eat such a precious face?!" Helga asks in shock.
"Who would want to even deal with such a saint?!" Ruma exclaims. "Your stomach will burn right through with the sugar, it will Winifred!"
Alright.. they're all focusing on specific aspects of you as a person... That much is clear... But is this a test or not... ====== A: Ignore it, continue down the road B: Ask them if they know the way to enlightenment C: Compliment Helga on how attractive she is D: Suggest to Winifred there are advantages to being young E: Lie to Ruma and explain the evil deeds you've done F: Free Will

C, D, and E all focus on the needs of a specific woman. Why would we choose one over the other? That makes me think the answer is A or B.

C and E are lies on our part, so they're out. D is a similar line of thought to C and E, so it's also out by association. B would probably come off as being greedy. Leaving A by process of elimination...although it doesn't sound like a good answer on it's own.
Mav, there is a good answer amongst those option, right?

The goal of this realm is MODERATION.
By definition, a vice is a fault that tends to be immoral, but you do it out of habit, maybe even necessity, like an addiction to cigarettes. So in OTHER words, do NOT venture to ANY extremes. The realms are VERY strict in their interpretation of the rules, EXTREMELY literal.
I feel like the point of this one is to prove that we’re not good TO THE EXTREME. That’s what they’re claiming that we are. We should prove that we aren’t.
A: Ignore it, continue down the road No. I don’t think this is it because there should be a purpose to these.
B: Ask them if they know the way to enlightenment Hmm… this seems safe enough.
C: Compliment Helga on how attractive she is Waste. This accomplishes nothing. They didn’t comment on you not claiming people were attractive.
D: Suggest to Winifred there are advantages to being young See answer C.
E: Lie to Ruma and explain the evil deeds you've done This seems to be an oddly good answer. I feel like we should prove we aren’t TOO good. That means it either means that we should lie to be against their claim of too good, OR we tell them about the bad things we’ve done to others (whether intentionally or not).
I’m feeling either B or a free will that talks about the bad things that we’ve done to others (while leaving out that we didn't intend for them to happen).

There's a safe answer and a good answer.
Huey, you're right about the extremes. But lying isn't a bad thing.
Remember, you're ALSO playing off the vices of the Preta who roam here. You have to exploit that, that's why they're damned to this realm after all.

Voting E
Hey Mav, what kinda evil things are we talking about for vote E?

Hmm, that makes A and B highly unlikely.
If we're supposed to play off of the spirit's vices, then C seems the most likely. D contradicts Winifred's assertion that it's better to be old. E...well I suppose it could also work, but it doesn't seem like it lines up as much as C does.
Also, Mav revealed a few tidbits about the story in the chat earlier:
"so, we got, the bs at Bellhelm, the scrolls, the crate, the backpack, and the fake tailed beast in the realm... and what just happened in human realm" are somehow all connected
"but i will say that madara is close to perfecting one of his end game weapons, it's at a highly functional enough level, where lotsa peoples a gonna die!, and it's only one of his end game pieces"
Akatsuki has exceeded the normal stat limit
Hidan may betray Akatsuki, Madara suspects that it’s coming, but doesn’t know how bad it will hurt him.

What about Hidan betraying akatsuki?

I'm serious people. Once we get the realms and can use them functionally... I say we go straight after them. We've wasted TOO much time.
Wasted may be a strong word but... we've given Modara too much time (yes, he's evolved from Mavara).

What about Hidan betraying akatsuki? Mav mentioned that it was possible that one of the members of Akatsuki was possibly going to betray them. He then went on to say that it was someone who would be opposed to world peace (apparently that's one of Madara goals). After someone guessed that it was Hidan, Mav confirmed it. He also said that while Hidan is the weakest Akatsuki member and Madara knows that his betrayal is likely, he was capable of throwing quite the wrench in Madara's plans. He also suggested that it'd be a good idea to split into separate teams to start neutering Madara. I suggested 3 or 4 teams (lead by 21, Itachi, Kakashi, and possibly Shikamaru), which he said was a good idea. Whether or not we follow up on this is a matter for the future. Another thing he mentioned is that Hell Realm is the one with the potential to provide a defense against Madara's soul manipulation, although its powers would have to be mastered in order to achieve that.
