"You rush in and I'll support you!" you quickly tell Omoi. He nodded and reached down to pick up his katana. As he did, an aura of electrical chakra appeared around the blade. He charged forward with great speed in a zig-zag motion. When he was just a few feet from Samui, he jumped up and spun around in the air to build up momentum, and he swung his sword when it had reached the peak of its momentum in the circular arc it was traveling in. Before Samui could act, you make a single seal that caused the earth around one of her feet to become much like quicksand. The sudden movement almost distracted her from Omoi's attack, but she managed to block it. With a sharp tug, she managed to free her leg.
She ran away from Omoi, who began to pursue her, and she made a few hand seals. Afterward, she pointed her hand at Omoi, palm showing, and a jet of water burst from it. Before Omoi was hit by the burst of water, you used Doton: Earth Shore Return to raise a protective rocky wall that blocked the attack. The stream of water was still surging from her hand, and Samui had stopped to focus more power in the technique in an attempt to blow through the rocky wall. Omoi jumped over the tall wall and simply cut through the water stream. The electricity around his sword began to race through the water stream towards Samui. She bit her lip and quickly canceled the jutsu. Omoi smirked at her and darted towards her. Samui turned to run, but she gasped when she saw that you were right behind her. Omoi then lightly rested his sword on her shoulder, the chakra flow surrounding it gone.
"Looks like we beat you," Omoi said.
A smile appeared across Samui's face, "Very well done, you two. You are certainly good with taijutsu and ninjutsu, but there's something I need to test you on..."
Samui's body then began twisting and distorting, and their surrounding soon began doing the same. The entire place began to move about and morph in appearance until you and Omoi were standing in a bleak and desolate wasteland, with no signs of life around except for your partner.
"Shit... this is a genjutsu, ain't it..." Omoi said, "I was never good at this stuff."
"Me neither..." you admit, "You wouldn't happen to know how to release genjutsu?"
"'Fraid I don't. Looks like we have to hurt ourselves to break out of this illusion."
You sigh and look down at your feet. This wasn't going to be pleasant. You lifted up your hammer and turned it around so its head was pointing downward. You hovered it above your right foot, braced yourself, and thrust the weapon down.
"FUCK!" you scream in pain as the hammer smashes your foot. You weren't crazy or anything... this would cause some bruises, but you didn't slam down hard enough to break bones. You opened your eyes to see that you were in the place you were just fighting Samui and Omoi in, but nobody was there and it was night. That illusion didn't alter your sense of time... did it? Surely Samui or Omoi would have broken you out of the genjutsu. Even Bee would have done so, as you doubt that he would be
this late.
You looked around and noticed someone moving nearby. You couldn't tell who it was because darkness shrouded their features, but the shape was definitely humanoid, and the posture suggested that they were in pain. You walked over to the figure and was shocked when it was Killer Bee!
He was clutching a wound on his side, and he seemed to be bleeding profusely. A few of his swords were sticking out of his back, and blood was flowing down his whole body.
"Kid... it's bad... real bad... I couldn't save them..." he groaned in a hoarse tone.
"What are you talking about?" you asked with great fear. Killer Bee's mouth moved, but his body gave up on him and he collapsed, face forward. You quickly got down to your knees and pulled out the swords in his back. After that, you turned him around and began to shake him.
"Teacher? Teacher!" you cried out, but he didn't respond. You placed your finger over his neck, and didn't detect a pulse. You stood up and backed away in shock at the scene. Your mind was racing and still trying to comprehend what was happening, but your thoughts were cut off when you heard a shrill scream... was it Samui?
You ran towards the source of the noise, trying not to panic, but you were failing. You tripped over something and fell to the ground, you stood up and turned around to see what you tripped over, and you couldn't help but scream.
It was Omoi... what was left of him. You could only tell that it was him because of the baggy hooded shirt and the few clumps of white hair next to a crushed skull. The head of the body was a hideous mess-- a puddle of red with bone fragments, bits of hair, and splattered brains. A single eye was visible in the pool of gore, and the other one had been reduced to a fine paste by whatever had crushed your friend's head.
You were overwhelmed by fear and panic, but that shrill scream that sent you running... that had to be Samui! You were suddenly overwhelmed by rage. Somebody had killed off your team, and now they were after Samui! Fear was replaced by anger, and panic was replaced by a burning desire for vengeance. You took off once more.
Soon you, saw what had killed Killer Bee and Omoi. Your mind was not sure whether to make you charge forth in a blind rage or collapse from sheer disgust and loss.
A monster with blood red skin that was taller than two men was holding Samui like a ragdoll. Her spine had been snapped, as the two halves of her body were in an impossible angle. Her head lolled lifelessly, her face staring at you. Her last expression was one of overwhelming pain and terror. You heard a sickening crack which was followed by a splash as the monster ripped her in two and a few of her insides spilled out. The monster just then noticed your presence. It chuckled as it stared at you with its five blazing orange eyes.
"Oh, I see you've seen the work I did to those ninja," he said in a distorted and low rumble of a voice as he raised Samui's upper half to his mouth. He closed it around the opening at the bottom and slurped up her organs and whatever else the foul beast ate. He threw that half aside like a child throws away a toy before continuing.
"Well, I thought I exterminated all of the Cloud, but it seems like you escaped my grasp, boy."
"Why..." was all that managed to fall from your lips. The creature set down Samui's lower half and walked towards you, each of its steps causing a thunderous boom. The demon loomed above you, and you had lost all hope. You could tell that you could do nothing to it... if it had taken down all of the people of Kumogakure... there was no hope left. You accepted your eventual death.
The demon rose a foot, and brought it down. All went black.

"...the hell, Samui? Why the fuck did you go traumatizin' those poor boys like that?"
"You may chastise me, Bee, but I stand by my decision. They needed to experience just what genjutsu could do to them. It's not like every opponent they will face will just use ninjutsu and taijutsu!"
"Still, from what you told me about those illusions you put them through... that's nasty!"
"Do you think enemy ninja will hesitate in putting them through hellish nightmares?"
"Dude, I would not want to have that stuff burned in my memories. Fix it. Now."
You heard the sound of Samui sighing after that. You were just coming to... was that terrifying experience all an illusion? You felt cold fingertips press against your head, and a huge relief washed over you as the sick images from the nightmare you just experienced faded from your mind. The feeling of horror and panic was still fresh in your mind, though.
You opened your eyes to see that it was still daytime, and you were laying on the ground. Samui and Bee were over you. You turned your head to the side to see Omoi sitting up and scratching his head.
"Up. Both of you," Samui said in a calm tone. You stood yourself up, and so did Omoi. Samui continued, "I apologize for putting you through that, but I needed to see how you would fare against genjutsu. Both of you did terrible. You managed to break out of the first illusion, but I made it so obvious that I created it that I would be ashamed if you didn't figure out you were trapped in an illusion. The second one was made to be recognized as an illusion sometime into it, and the third one was set up to be incredibly hard to break out of, but the two of you never broke free from the second illusion."
"Even though those illusions were pretty cruel, it should have shown you the importance of things in school. Genjutsu's no joke, as it can easily lead to making you croak," Killer Bee said.
"It's especially important that I showed you just what genjutsu can do, because we have our first mission. But before Bee tells you two about it, I am going to teach you two about genjutsu. How to recognize one, and how to break out of it. Don't go assuming that this will be a repeat of what you learned in the academy; my genjutsu skill is surpassed only by one other person in this village."
Samui then began to teach you many things about genjutsu. Things like how only masters of genjutsu can create illusions that are perfect in detail, how concentration can reveal abnormalities in your chakra flow, and the genjutsu release technique. Samui trained you a bit in the release technique by putting a few simple illusions on the two of you until you both got it down.
"Just keep in mind that if an enemy specializes in genjutsu, they may put you through even more horrendous illusions than I used. It is key to recognize these illusions as false quickly and break out of them. People are rendered immobile when they are trapped in a genjutsu, and they can easily be killed in such a state," Samui concluded.
"Alright, team, I've got some news! We have a mission to stop some abuse. A group of bandits is terrorizing a village, and they think they're tough enough to recklessly pillage. Their leader's a powerful guy formerly from the Cloud, and we got to beat them down and make our village proud!" Killer Bee said.
"We discussed things while you two were unconscious, and we decided to set out at night. Meet back here shortly after sundown, and then we'll depart," Samui said, "we can go over the mission then, but do you have any unrelated questions?"
A. Scold Samui for the harsh illusions she placed on them and the general unexpectedness of that test (
Samui relation).
B. Ask Bee about his relation to the Raikage and if there's anything else he's keeping from them (
Killer Bee relation).
C. Ask Omoi if he is okay (+Omoi relation).
D. Ask the three questions above.
E. Say that you do not, and go home to prepare for the mission.
