My thoughts A) The Lich: 1. Uses the power of cold to destroy his enemies
I find to be boring, an ice wielding lich in warcraft just never suited me for some reason. When I played Defense of the Ancients, I almost never pick the lich. And when I do, it's boring to play.
2. Uses the power of bone magic. He can raise a small army of undead soldiers and other goodies.
You need bones for this, which we don't always have. Also it's the very definition of fodder army. I always take village busters over fodder army. Besides I already took fodder army with the next choice.
3. Can take the form of a Frost-Wyrm.
Love frost-wyrms, they always seem so powerful in warcraft. Flying support.
4. Can steal the souls of others, using it to fuel his own necromancy techniques.
This would be my second choice, however Daikon is supposed to be the master of necromancy.
B) The Shadow Druid: 1. Can transform and summon into an array of powerful and unnatural beasts.
Animal Pain redux, it would really depend on what is summoned/transformed to. But most summons are pseudo fodder. If he had the rinnegan connected with us, it would be great support, but sadly he doesn't. For this to be considered, something like a powered up Cerberus has to be one of the summons. Also, flying summons would be useful.
2. Can use his dark powers to control the minds of others.
I always imagine this failing on people who have good genjutsu defense for some reason.
3. Can summon deathly plants and nature spirits to obliterate his enemies.
Our fodder army, and we don't need bones for it.
4. Can steal the blood of others, using them to fuel his terrible blood-magic. No idea what this kind of magic this this would allow him to do. Is the steal blood effect on contact or ranged?
5. Is a shadow-stitcher, he can forcefully combine the souls and body of his live victims, creating powerful and obedient monsters.
Eh, this one seems hit and miss. He has to capture multiple souls first and the victims all have to be alive for the combination. If we get two fodder souls together, we end up with fodder. If we get two powerful souls together, it would be very powerful. I imagine however that a powerful soul is harder to capture. Even if we could capture some powerful souls, Daikon himself (well us) would want to dominate them. So more often then not, the shadow druid will end up with fodder souls.

“The Lich over there…his transformation has allowed him to develop a rather “interesting” power.” Lilacor says sinisterly.
“…And what would that be?” You ask solemnly.
Suddenly, you feel the air around you turn very, very cold. You can suddenly see your breath, and small ice crystals begin to form all over the throne room. You look over to the lich; his eyes are glowing bright blue.
“He can transform into the very embodiment of ice….a terrifying Frost Wyrm.” Lilacor says slowly.
The lich suddenly shakes violently and gives a loud, unnatural scream. He suddenly releases a blinding blue light and you feel the very room begin to shake. Once the light dies down, you gasp at what you are seeing. He is now a 20 foot skeleton dragon. His great purple wings are folded behind him, they look tattered. The dragon looks down at you with cruel, intelligent eyes.
“My breath holds Death’s cold embrace…none shall stand in our way.” He says in a beastly voice.
“That is….going to be useful.” You conclude.
“You have no idea….and moving on to the druid. He has also become rather powerful these past two years. Demonstrate to your new master slave!” Lilacor commands.
The shadow druid obediently obliges. He forms a sleight of seals before throwing two pebble-like objects in front of you.
“Call of Nature.” He says apathetically.
The “pebbles” instantly sprout and transform into five-foot tall purple humanoid-trees. You notice they have fully functional arms and legs; they are looking at you obediently with their glowing yellow eyes.
“These are Ancient Protectors, the guards of the Nature spirit himself. While they are a bit weaker than normal….I’m sure they’ll get stronger as their summoner does so as well. Watch!” Lilacor yells as he grabs a plate from the table and throws it like a Frisbee.
Almost instantly, both the trees shunshin towards the plate, destroying it in a span of about two seconds.
“Impressive.” You admit.
“Very.” Lilacor says as he snaps his finger. Both the trees instantly explode in a bright blue light. “You’ve made much progress these past two years, it seems now is the time to return to the surface.” Lilacor concludes.
“Wait…what about my minions? Are they coming with me?” You ask.
“Of course master. We will follow you to the ends of the Earth.” They both say in unison.
“Yeah…you’re pretty much stuck with them. Don’t worry though…they won’t attract much attention back in the real world.” Lilacor reassures.
Instantly, both of your minions disappear into a puff of smoke. Once the smoke clears, they assume the form of two fully-armored and masked ANBU members. They quickly make their way to your side.
“So I won’t ever have to summon them?” You ask curiously.
“Nah…but make sure you don’t do anything reckless with them. Monsters aren’t the same as souls Daikon, they CAN be killed if you’re not careful. The good news is they will slowly get stronger as you do. I wouldn’t be surprised if they both become strong enough to fight on a Hokage’s level once they’ve fully matured.” He says happily.
You look at your two summons skeptically.
“Anyways…I need you to leave now. These two years have completely drained me of all my energy…..I’m going to need to go into hibernation for a while once you’re gone. We’ll continue your training once I get my energy back.” Lilacor says wearily.
“Alright Lilacor, thanks for everything.” You say calmly.
Lilacor gives you a coy smile before snapping his fingers and creating a hexagram under you and your summons.
“Don’t worry about it kid….and I’m sorry. Just don’t get too mad at me once you’ve realized what I have done.” He says in a apologetic tone before snapping his fingers and teleporting you back to the real world.
__
You reappear back in your room, the bow is conveniently on your back and your minions have loyally followed you back. Still…this room looks MUCH different from how you left it; it’s absolutely filthy.
“Something…isn’t right.” You say cautiously.
“Master, look out window.” The Lich says softly as he points outside.
You do so and gasp at what you’re seeing. Almost a quarter of all the buildings in this neighborhood has been irreparably damaged. Even more surprisingly, there are an innumerable amount of Iwagakure shinobis patrolling the area outside.
“What the hell is going on?!” You ask in shock.
“It seems Martial Law has been enacted.” The Druid says curiously. “How long have you been gone?”
“What do you mean how long?! Lilacor said it’d only be a few sec-“
You abruptly stop as you run towards the table and grab the folded newspaper on your table. Your eyes widen in surprise as you read the headlines, and they quickly contort in rage shortly after. You fold the newspaper violently and throw it into the trash bin.
“I’LL KILL YOU LILACOR!” You yell in fury as you run out your house.
Your two minions look curiously at the paper you’ve thrown away before running after you. They only managed to read one line before leaving, “The Third Shinobi War has been Declared.”
____
“WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN YOU UNGRATEFUL LITTLE BRAT?!” The Tsuchikage yells at you the moment you enter his office.
“I-I’m sorry Tsuchikage-sama! My training took longer than I expected!” You say apologetically.
“ENOUGH EXCUSES BOY! HOW DARE YOU GO MIA, ESPECIALLY DURING THE DAWN PRELUDING A WAR! WHAT COULD POSSIBLY HAVE POSSESSED YOU TO LEAVE FOR TWO YEARS WITHOUT MENTIONING IT TO YOUR SUPERIOR?!” He yells angrily. “AND YOU EVEN HAVE THE GALL TO BRING THESE TWO….STRANGERS UNINVITED INTO MY OFFICE?!”
Your minions remain perfectly silent as they curiously listen to this conversation. You give the Tsuchikage a respectful bow before saying,
“Master, I’m deeply sorry about what I have done, but there were factors out of my control delaying me from returning. If it’s any solace, I have become MUCH more powerful, and am more than capable of playing a vital role in this war.” You say politely.
The Tsuchikage studies you for a few moments before sighing in frustration. His face loses its blind fury, but still shows a great annoyance towards you.
“Do you even know what has happened since you’ve left?!” He scoffs towards you.
You shake your head.
“The world has gone to absolute hell, Daikon. Konohagakure and Kumogakure declared war on Sunagakure about six months ago. Due to my diplomatic promises, I was forced to take Sunagakure’s side on this affair.” He says bitterly.
You widen your eyes in shock at what he’s saying.
“Kirigakure joined Konoha and Kumogakure about two weeks later. They’ve created a three-way alliance, dubbed the “Triple-entente.” As a result, Kusagakure and the Warring Fuma clan were forced to join us and Sunagakure shortly after. We have called ourselves the Shinobi Alliance.” The Tsuchikage explains.
“How is the war going for us?” You ask curiously.
“TO ABSOLUTE SHIT!” The Tsuchikage yells in fury. “The Entente has launched numerous sabotage and raids onto our land, and the rest of the alliance are too busy defending themselves to send us any aid! If that’s not bad enough, the war has caused some of our shinobis to revolt and create a splinter-group that threatens to overthrow my regime! I’m being cornered on all sides Daikon…” The Tsuchikage says sadly, now looking very old and weak.
“Who is leading this splinter group?!” You yell in disbelief.
The Tsuchikage scowls before answering. “Shin Tetsumi.” He says bitterly.
“WHAT?! ARE KAIRI AND TAKAMURA IN THIS TOO?!” You yell in disbelief.
“Takamura is….but Kairi isn’t. She became a missing-nin and joined Orochimaru about a week after you went missing. All the hunter-nins we sent after her were gruesomely killed. If that’s not bad enough, she and Orochimaru are tearing a trail of destruction through our countryside, sky-rocketing our food prices. I fear this may be the end of Iwagakure.” He says sadly.
“No…NO! Don’t give up yet sir! I can still play a part in this war! Iwagakure won’t fall as long as I still breathe!” You yell patriotically.
“Heh….those eyes show you’ve matured a bit. I can hardly recognize you, what’s with that white hair?” He says with a small smile.
You give him a confused look before looking in a mirror. To your surprise, your appearance looks very much like your Arrancar form…without the gaping hole and power of course. You quickly shake your thoughts from such trivial concerns.
“What is my first mission sir?” You say solemnly.
“….I have a very special task for you. It is an assassination, but this could turn the tides of the war if you succeed.” He says slowly.
You say nothing.
“Amegakure has yet to decide whom it will support in this war….but its recent political acts strongly favor the Triple Entente. Daikon…if they join them, it will be the final nail on our coffins. The Entente’s might and numbers will overwhelm us.”
You shudder at the very thought of this.
“There is..however…a solution. If you take their leader, Hanzo, out of the equation….my correspondent can quickly assume power. From there, he can mobilize Amegakure to join the alliance, an act that could help change the tide of this war.” The Tsuchikage says optimistically.
“That seems too simple.” You say bluntly.
“It is. Hanzo is an incredibly powerful ninja, much stronger than you and me. Honestly, I do not think you are ready to fight such a terrifying opponent….but I am completely out of options Daikon.” He says as he shakes his head in helplessness.
“I understand master.” You say understandingly.
“If it is any consolation…the correspondent I mentioned will be joining you on this mission. His power will undoubtedly be useful in taking down Hanzo.” The Tsuchikage says slowly.
“Who am I going with exactly?” You ask confusedly.
The door behind you suddenly opens. You look behind you and see a young man with bright, orange hair and a collection of piercings on the bridge of his nose. He’s wearing a black cloak which contains a plethora of red clouds. The most prominent feature, however, is his purple eye….they seem to stare inside your very soul.
“You are going with God.” The man says bluntly.

OH..... SHIZ! What a great update! Wow. I should've figured Kairi would go dark. I wonder how Shin and Takamura are doing? Well, obviously they're revolting. I wonder why? Man, we are going to freaking tear Amegakure apart, especially with Nagato. Oh boy! This is going to be so fun.

HOLY ****. Great update indeed. Lol at Kairi going the Sasuke route. Hopefully, we can talk Shin out of his revolt, otherwise we might have to kill him and Takamura. Although... I wouldn't mind killing Takamura and taking his sword (kidding). I am looking forward to Hanzo vs. Daikon and Pain.
Edit: I wonder how much of the time-line was skewed. It seems that Akatsuki is still intact, and it seems that Iwa (and possibly Suna) is hiring them for help. That should make things in the war interesting.
Sasuke wasn't mentioned by Tsuchikage. Does that mean he is still with Konoha? I say we kill him.

We should let Pain handle Hanzou while we go and find Nagato and steal his soul. HAHA!

Post by guygenius19 on Feb 3, 2011 5:59:38 GMT
That sounds like a plan. However, there are so many people in Kumo and Konoha who souls we could steal. However, if want to only take evil souls then Akatsuki is the way to go. Although they might be currently on our side. Although we haven't really defined our course of action regarding the war.

I thought Daikon could only steal souls every six or so months? We'd only get one for the next arc then.

We already waited more than our designated 6 months. We waited TWO YEARS! We NEED another soul. I don't see why we shouldn't take Nagato's soul. In addition, because we chose necromancy, we automatically allied with Suna. And we already got one saga out of the way. Two more to go before we can get a saga reward.

We could just take Hanzo's soul. Although Nagato's soul would be better.

Ensign I gotta say, your CYOA has quickly become one of my favorites(I only follow 2 right now anyway.) I really like Daikon and this power. To top it off, you give us Pain as an ally! Quick discussion guys: 2 years passed, our soul is fully within our phylactery inside our wrist. We should be immortal now as long as no one destroys it. Would our body eventually recover from life threatening wounds? Like after battle would a hole in our stomach heal? And engisn you never answered my question. Do you play, or have played Warcraft? Your lich sounds a lot like warcraft's lich. I'm not familiar with other fantasy lore or how they portray liches.

Hey guys... Do you think we should try to extract the sliver of wood and place it in a safe place, but random place? Maybe we could use a defensive polygon seal in that safe place to keep it protected, or have the seal instantly teleport us if someone finds it or tampers with it. But if you guys think we should leave it, I'm cool with that. I just don't want anyone cutting off our left arm, you know what I mean?

The sliver of wood gets our soul sealed into it after two years. It's been two years in Lilacor's time and Onoki's time. We've fulfilled that requirement. We COULD take it out now...
