Maybe it's missing an answer to why is my quiz so vicious?

Here's my last hint: The story isn't important. Instead, focus on the structure of the sentence. Remember how Akiko said it was worded weirdly, with no pronouns(pronouns aren't the answer)? Try to focus on that and find what's missing. Also, the letter "E" happens to be the most common letter when talking/writing and the letter "T" is the most common consonant.

Both "the" and "he" both come to mind with that hint. Here's my last hint: The story isn't important. Instead, focus on the structure of the sentence. Remember how Akiko said it was worded weirdly, with no pronouns(pronouns aren't the answer)? Try to focus on that and find what's missing. Yeah, well there's not a lot of pronouns. Well, I'm going to be updating in a couple of hours. None of you guys got it right so far. One final, last hint. The answer is going to be one word.

You almost have it. There's just one more letter missing that you don't have, and then add an extra "E".

This riddle doesn't make any sense. Maybe the thing that's missing is a key? An answer to his box-quiz-thing? No, it couldn't be that simple. Maybe it's about the sentence structure. There's no commas, but that doesn't seem to be it. You think for a couple of seconds and then it hits you. There's no "E"! Or "T" for that matter. After looking through the riddle, you also see that there is no "R" or "N". So the answer is......rent? You shake your head in confusion, and Obito chuckles. You see that Sera is completely lost. Finally, after re-wording and adding another "E", you say tentatively, "Enter?"
"Correct! I was beginning to worry that one of you wouldn't solve it." Obito replies joyfully.
"I still don't understand." Sera says, trying to view the riddle from a different angle.
"Well, here's my train of thought." Obito starts, "First, look at the story. It's completely random with no sort of connection between sentences. So you can probably cross out the story. But then how do you get the answer? The riddle must be hiding something. So you look to see if there's any patterns or ambiguities. I saw immediately that there was no letter 'E', which is the most common letter. So I checked which other letters were missing. 'T', 'R', and 'N' are missing. After a couple of seconds of moving letters around and adding an 'E' you get Enter, which makes sense as an answer."
Sera seems to understand, but looks kind of sad that she couldn't figure it out. Obito then scrawls "Enter" on the piece of paper. You see a distortion of the air surrounding the gate, and Obito leads you in.
You gasp. The barrier seems to have disguise the camp. There's hundreds of happy families walking around, making walking really cramped. You see kids enjoying performances, parents buying things for their kids, and families just having fun. There's two camp fires, one huge, colorful caravan, and three giant tents. There were gypsies nearly everywhere, doing neat tricks like blowing different colored bubbles that explode like fireworks, creating flying origami birds that burst into green fire, and doing mock fights that seemed really realistic while doing so many gymnastic techinques that it made you dizzy. You felt just like a kid with no worries, having fun at a carnival. It was such a sweet feeling that you groaned when Obito lead you towards the caravan. Sera was having the same reaction, gazing at every cool sight she could find.
Obito, you, and Sera reached the caravan. Obito knocked three times and the door opened to reveal a short, fat man with different colored rags for clothes. His happy face turned into fear when he saw Obito, then anger. He said, "You don't want to do this."
"I do, because it will help me reach my goal." Obito replied with a blank face, "But I will not shed innocent blood if I don't have to. I saw a clearing a mile away. We can fight there."
"And if I were to call for help from the Shinobi Patrol?" the fat man asked, still vividly angry.
"Then I can't be responsible for what happens to the families here." Obito responds. The fat man thinks for a couple of seconds, then turns to the caravan and says gravely, "Conor, Felicia, come out."
Out comes two teens, the boy about 15 and Felicia about 16. When they see Obito, the color drains out of their faces. They tense up, and look like they're just about to flee when the short man says, "Don't. We have to face him." The kids freeze. Obito then turns and walks away, with you, Sera, the fat man, and the two kids following him. You happened to lock eyes with the boy, Conor. He didn't seem angry at you. He just seemed sad. The girl on the other hand was completely mad. It made for one very awkard run.
Finally, you arrived in a clearing that was pretty vast. There were a couple of rocks dotting the barren land, but other than that it was just sand and dirt.
"Let's get this over with." the fat man says.
"I'll take on the leader. You fight the kids." Obito says. Actually facing the kids, knowing that they escaped and are now going to be dragged back to Hell, is terrible. You try to focus on how you need to get this done, but you just can't. Sera puts a hand on your shoulder, and it calms you down a bit. Conor also says, "No hard feelings. I'll respect you if you win or lose." Felicia just nods her head in agreement, her hands balled up in fist. You fight down your guilt and finally manage to create a mask around your body to hide your emotions.
"Let's do this." you say.
(What's the battle configuration? I'm going to put their databook stats in the database topic. Just their stat points.)
A: You fight Conor, Sera fights Felicia.
B: You fight Felicia, Sera fights Conor.
C: Work as a tag team to focus on both of them.

I made it so that Ki Beam goes at 50 mph now.
---
"How should we go about fighting them?" Sera asks.
"Let's do it as a team." you respond. Sera simply nods her head in agreement. You see that Conor and Felicia already started the fight. Felicia makes some handseals and three crystals jut out of the ground in front of you, each around 4 feet tall and 1 feet wide. Meanwhile, Conor takes out a scroll and summons a bird-humanoid puppet. You see that it has metallic wings with the feathers sharpened to a point. You consider using Age of Speed on the puppet, but you decide that its structure and building is too complicated for you to affect, like a human's.
You see Felicia perform some more handseals, but you interrupt her with three Ki Beams. She manages to dodge all of them, but Sera sent a out four large water cannons at her while she was dodging. You see Felicia look worried as she realizes that she can't dodge all of them, until the bird puppet blocks all of the cannons with its wings. It looks like the wings aren't damaged at all. The puppet then sends a flurry of metallic feathers at you and Sera. Sera makes some handseals and shouts, "Great Breakthrough!" A powerful gust of wind comes from behind you, and the feathers get knocked aside.
You see Conor rush straight at you with a fist raised. You block the fist and recoil with a kick to the head. He dodges and jumps back while making some handseals. He gets interrupted by a fiery, red orb that Sera sent at him. A giant crystal wall forms out of the ground, blocking the red orb. The orb explodes and shatters the wall, but Conor gets to finish his handseals unscathed. He shoots a couple of wind scythes at you, and to top it off, the crystal shards levitate into the air and fly at you and Sera. They look too heavy and sturdy to get knocked aside from Sera's Great Breakthrough. This looks challenging, so you activate Speed Demon. You feel yourself get stronger in every aspect. You then...
Your Chakra: 450/600 Your Ki: 440/600 Sera's Chakra: 555/700 Sera's Reiryoku: 425/500
What will YOU do?
A: Try to outrun the wind scythes+crystal shards.
B: Use Slow Down and try to see if there's any gaps in the attacks that you can head for.
C: Ki Blast volley all of the shards.
D: Free Will.
What will SERA do?
E: Go Animal Path, summon the Chameleon, and hope it's sturdy enough to withstand the attacks. (Note, if the Chameleon dies, it's gone forever.)
F: Use Great Breakthrough and hope it negates the wind scythes.
G: Water Gunshot the shards.
H: Free Will.

Yeah, I know. The other voters might not even know this is updated for some strange, abnormal reason. Anyways, I'll just update with your vote and if it's like this again I'll wait until I get another vote, even if it takes FOREVER.

You perform the seals for Slow Down. Everything goes to a stand still immediately. Your brain starts working like a computer as it analyzes the projectiles and highlights their paths. You spot a path through the projectiles that might be the easiest one. You just have to dive under a couple of shards, jump over a wind scythe, and then skirt around another wind scythe. You start going over the plan in your head, reenacting it. Once the 15 second time limit is up, you rush to your path. You easily dodge the first couple of shards, and jump over the Wind Scythe with the help of Speed Demon. You notice another red orb coming from Sera's direction, and you guess that she's getting rid of the remaining shards heading at her. You finally get out of the maze of weapons, surprised with yourself and your power. You would not have imagined yourself being capable of doing this 4 years ago. You hear an explosion as you turn around, seeing the crystal shards being reduced to pieces as big as your pinky finger.
You look for Conor and Felicia, and you see that they've circled around you and Sera while you were dodging the weapons. There's tons of crystal pieces on the ground due to the explosion. Sera starts to rush Conor and his puppet when Felicia performs some handseals and shouts, "Earth Release: Eternal Earthquake!" The ground starts to shake rapidly under your feet, causing you to fall on your face. You look up and see Felicia exhausted and slumped on the ground. Conor is also having trouble with the earthquake, and is puppet got completely dismantled. Sera seems to be crawling towards them. You feel yourself filling with excitement and adrenaline for some reason. Thoughts of finally beating them start to flood your brain, and you eagerly crawl towards Conor and Felicia, while the whole world quakes underneath you.
---
(Sera's Viewpoint Now!)
"Shit!" you curse as you see the chakra coming from Felicia, to the crystal pieces on the ground, and then into your eyes. You feel the earth quake around you as you fall to the ground. You know that this is a genjutsu, so you use Kai to break out of it easily. Conor's puppet sent more feathers at you, so you simply make a couple of handseals and say, "Great Breakthrough." The feathers get blown away again, and you see Felicia shake her head is disbelief as she sees your okay. You look at Akiko and groan. He's still in the genjutsu, crawling his way towards the enemies. You rush to Akiko, but the puppet blocks your path. This time, it sends several globs of purple mush at you. Just by looking at the globs you can easily see that they're poisonous. You dodge the first two, but Conor sneaks up on you and pushes you into the third and final one. You put your arms up in defense, and they get painfully covered in poison.
You feel the mush melting away at your skin AND causing all cells in the area to go numb or dead. You quickly wipe the glob off of your arms, but it has already done enough damage. Not only did its searing pain almost make you cry out, but your left arm has a nasty looking rash enveloping your whole forearm, with lots of the skin melted. The right arm looks okay, save for one spot on your elbow that has melted away into bone. You grimace at the sight. You were never good at seeing injuries, and it takes all of your willpower to not faint. You back away quickly, noticing that you can't move your forearm, but you can still move the fingers. Good, you can still make handseals. Right now you see the puppet send even more globs at you. Conor is making some more handseals, and Felicia is coming at you with an armor of crystal on her. This does not look good...
(Akiko is stuck in the genjutsu, unaware that he is actually in one. He can't do anything.)
Sera's Chakra: 530/700 Sera's Reiryoku: 350/500
*Critical Decision*
A: Go Animal Path, summon the Chameleon, and hide in it while it dodges and hides.
B: Make several Rock Clones, several to take on the poison, several to deal with Felicia, and some more to deal with Conor while you run to Akiko.
C: Use Great Breakthrough to rush at Conor and disrupt his seals with some taijutsu.
D: Free Will.

This was exactly what I wanted to avoid happening when I picked Akiko to fight Connor only.
So that genjutsu was B-rank, and Sera was easily able to kai out of that?
|
|
|
Post by dragonfantasy on May 5, 2012 13:51:02 GMT
The reason why that genjutsu was B-Rank was because not only did it make you crawl because of the earthquake, but it filled you with fake excitement and adrenaline, causing you to really want to beat the enemies up and distracting you from thinking that this might be a genjutsu. And the fact that the enemies seem exhausted and almost defeated just adds to the rush. Sera saw the chakra coming from the crystal, using her Rinnegan, and knew that it was a genjutsu, since an earthquake jutsu wouldn't need to send chakra into your eyes. She Kaied out of it before the feelings of adrenaline and excitement rushed through her.
