To get an idea of how strong this learning ability is, here is how I view skill points:
0-10: Normal human level 10-20: Academy student level 20-40: Genin level 40-60: Chuunin level 60-80: Jounin level 80-100: Kage level
You're already academy level without going to an academy. Genin level with no training. Chuunin level with melee weapons.

Just don't put too much in melee weapons, with our crappy bartering skills, we might not be able to afford a kunai after buying food and molotov cocktails.

Do we have enough money to afford a kunai?

I didn't ignore you. I read your message, decided that I disagree with you, and voted for what I want.

I'm going to change the bartering skill to stop this from happening. If you stop in Suna or any friendly area, you will automatically have all your basic ninja, food, and water supplies refiled. Bartering will allow you to buy or simply get (I have yet to decide) upgrades to your normal equipment, and some special goodies, like Molotov's Ambrosia. You can always ignore bartering, but your special goodies will have to be found in the wild. This way you don't have to worry about starving to death. It's not much fun in a CYOA to have to balance a budget and decide what to buy with 5 other people. It's hard enough doing that with 1 other person IRL.

Change to A3@
What consists of basic ninja tools? Kunai (how many kunai?), shuriken (how many shuriken?), paper explosives, string, wire, smoke bombs, nets, soldier pills, weights, flash bombs, first aid kits, academy school books, paper seals (think like paper Kyuubi seals which might have it's own special sealing properties or trap/barrier paper seals like the ones Akatsuki used before), binoculars, camping sets, molotov cocktails, bear traps, knives (trench knives?), elemental affinity paper (to tell a person's natural element), fuma shuriken, basic arrows, headset communicators (low range of course)?

I would say... half of that is considered basic equipment held by all ninja. Traps, binoculars, knives, affinity paper, books, etc etc, are not carried by almost every ninja. The higher bartering skill you get, the more kunai/shurikens/paper explosives/cocktails/etc etc you can hold at a time, and the higher their quality goes up. Not all exploding tags are made equal.

"I think you're right about strength. It can definitely come in handy," you say.
He smiles broadly. "Excellent! We shall begin-"
"Immediately?" you interject.
"... Yes, immediately," he sheepishly says. He looks like you hurt his feelings.
You wait outside the Kage Mansion in an open courtyard. Despite being so close to the leader of the village, it is a simple fenced area of sand with rocks lying around. No attempt at decorating was made. The sun beats down on you, and you've been waiting for your teacher for a good 30 minutes now.
"This isn't really starting my training immediately..." you think to yourself.
Your teacher suddenly appears in a cloud of smoke, easily supporting a huge steel barrel on his right shoulder.
"Brought you your food for the next few weeks!" he says while smiling.
He gently sits it down, and whips out a small cup gray cup from his pocket. He squirts out what looks to be green paste with... orange and yellow dots floating around.
"Drink," he commands holding the cup out to you. Despite the grave and frantic warnings your nose gives you, you take a sip of the paste. It immediately flies out of your mouth.
"This is my special juice I use for training. It's a mixture of desert plants growing around Suna, full of nutrients and healing qualities," he explains.
"Is it edible?" you ask.
"Well..." he says as he looks down at the ground. "It helps with your training," he laughs.
The next three weeks are not days you like to remember, even if you could. They are a hazy blur of working out into the night and into the morning, and then working out into the afternoon. Weights, rocks, and various instruments of your torture littered your training area outside the Kage Mansion. Night after night your teacher drilled and coached you, criticizing your forms or pushing you to do another rep. The cloudless, brilliant sun beat down on you throughout those weeks, and the desert's sand tore at your skin. But your teacher's methods bore fruit; the fruit of large, bulging muscles all around your body. You feel stronger in every capacity, whether it be swinging your weapon, jumping, or carrying large objects. The time outside also gave you golden brown skin. You wonder why Gaara doesn't have a tan as well.
"This training has really paid off!" you yell, lifting a boulder above your head.
"We're going to start the next phase of your training," your teacher remarks.
"What's that?" you ask.
"Not sure yet. Come with me," he says, walking into the Kage Mansion.
"He left me again..." you think to yourself. This time it's been an hour since he told you to wait in this small, modestly furnished room. You're beginning to daydream at this point.
A. Stare at the desk's lamp; observe its flames flickering in the air. B. You watch as the wind gently blows sand across the courtyard you trained in. C. Ouch! You keep getting static shocks in here! D. Take note of workers digging the foundation of a new home. E. A pitcher of water sits on a table. Small particles seem to float peacefully inside...

For raiton shroud, I thought of getting katon for explosions but I think we can still manage some with raiton.
I have an idea: have our Jounin shop for us, he must have at least chunnin level bartering skills, he can act as our agent. We pay him 10 percent of the cost of buying the goods if we were to pay for them plus what the jounin paid for the goods. Since we have to pay much more then what our jounin would pay, we save money anyway. Not only would our jounin get some money from us but he would want to help us, a better equipped team is a stronger team, a stronger team means a higher chance he would survive himself. Them since our jounin can buy for his whole team, he can make a lot of money that way, and have a stronger team.
An example: Our total expenses (that we look up before the jounin shops for us): 1200 ryu Jounins expenses: 1000 ryu Jounin gets from us: 1000 + 1200(.1)- 1120 ryu We save 80 ryu, our jounin makes 120 ryu. Also I'm being conserverative in the difference between our bartering skills, so the profits and savings would be more. Not to mention I didn't even factor in the rest of the team, so more profits and savings there.

Not to mention I didn't even factor in the rest of the team, so more profits and savings there. I consider the new bartering skill not aiming to save money, but having access to more goods. In particular, off-the-shelf and black market goods. The skill basically determines how well you schmooze, and how well you can convince people to show you their real goods. A random jounin wouldn't waste his precious and in-demand skills to be your running boy. You will have a choice of a partner, like Fallout 3. There will also be levels of loyalty you can unlock, vaguely similar to Mass Effect 2. Perhaps if you had a partner good in bartering...
