D
What's up with this "rival" stuff? Don't they know everyone there is under the banner of Konoha? It's childish. MC got dragged out of bed when he's supposed to be relaxing and training, Minato attacks without MC provoking or even asking if MC wanted to fight, and then Minato doesn't respect the danger of MC's bugs.

I concur. Buncha assholes. I like Kushina and Shikaku though. They're good people.

I don't mind D. But C will give us another technique to utilize against mid-ranged opponents, and ninjutsu will help us down the road. Our character will always have the opportunity to get faster. But we may only get to increase our nin stat at certain times. That's my take.

He has time to get faster. That time is right. Now.

D vote is the majority. And I agree with Giga, this rival stuff is ridiculous. I guess Ardal isn't going to have many friends.

I apologize for my prolonged absence. Issues with school caused me to have to put my CYOA on hold.
Now that it's summer, however, I intend to restart this story, and I'm working on an update as we speak.
And to make it up...I will give the main character both C + D

You look at Minato hardly, a mixture of anger and confusion flaring in your eyes: Is this guy serious?
“That’s not good enough Minato!” You yell before grabbing Kunai from your pouch and pointing it threateningly at the little bastard, causing Kushina to gasp in surprise and both Minato and Jiraiya to tense up.
“You attacked me like a coward, and you used REAL weapons.” You growl in an angry, but controlled tone.
“A-ardal…calm down!” Kushina pleads from the sideline. “Minato’s an idiot, but I’m sure he didn’t mean to REALLY hurt you.”
“I guess that’s just fake blood running down the fake shuriken wound on my shoulder then.” You bark back at her, sarcasm heavy in your voice.
Kushina says nothing in reply – what could she say?
“What are you going to do with that kunai boy?” Jiraiya asks in a threatening tone. “You shouldn’t point a weapon at a man unless you intend to use it…..and you know what will happen if you do.”
“What do you want me to do Ardal?” Minato questions in a slightly nervous voice. “Apologize?”
“I want you to tell me, EXPLAIN TO ME how I can trust you: Why I should lay my life on the line by going on a mission with you after what you just did!”
An unnerving silence stifles the air around you for what seems to be an eternity. Kushina and Jiraiya continue to look at you cautiously, but do nothing to stop you. After a few moments, however, Minato finally breaks the silence.
“Are you going to attack me?” He asks in a solemn tone.
You say nothing at first – the thought actually being entertained in your head-, but you finally slam the kunai straight towards the ground before simply muttering, “No. I’m not a coward like you.” Both Kushina and Jiraiya sigh in relief as Minato begins to walk up to you, stopping merely a meter away from you.
“Look….I’m sorry Ardal.” Minato apologizes in a genuinely sympathetic tone. “I got carried away, and I swear to you: it will never happen again.”
You stare directly into Minato’s eyes, the anger in yours a clear contrast to the sadness in his. A nod is the only response you give him.
“Let me make it up to you, man. I’ll teach you both my shuriken technique, and how to become faster. Consider my earlier request withdrawn.” Minato offers as he grabs your uninjured shoulder.
“Great…you’re going to teach him TWO of your skills for free?!” Jiraiya yells in disbelief. “Shinobis these days….”
Kushina punches her master in response before saying, “Minato acted like a jerk! I think Ardal deserves this!”
“That he does, it wouldn’t be wise to go on a mission with him while he’s this angry at me.” Minato adds. “So..are we cool?” Minato asks as he offers a hand in truce.
You look at the hand hesitantly at first…but you finally grip it and shake.
“Good, now lets go. It’s going to take us the full week to learn what I have to show you.” -- Level Up!

You forgot the speed reward so we should have 6 there.

I haven't seen giga, someclown or ensign lately so we're missing half our voters here. Giga being MIA really hurts, since he usually comes up with great battle plans/analysis.
Oh and Vegeta is visiting Japan for 10 days, so that's another voter out.

Hmm intelligence really wasn't in the original plans of how the voters before wanted to build the character. I only increase it by 1 because I don't want to fall behind in it.
How much chakra does the shuriken tech cost to use?

O.o How did my character kill 21? Isn't he a God? Your character would be a full adult by the time 21 comes around, making him much stronger. 21 would have been blinded by sorrow from the death of Itachi, and would have fought sloppy. +1 int, +4 spd. We should probably boost intelligence and stamina later. I'm of the opinion speed and taijutsu are top tier for genin and chuunin, with stamina and intelligence top tier for jounin and kage. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/LinearWarriorsQuadraticWizardsRaikage's cool and all, but Madara and Kabuto stomp him. Intelligence and stamina win out at the end.

The next week was spent entirely on your training. Despite Minato’s horrid bed-side manner, he actually proved to be a rather effective teacher. While you are nowhere close to as proficient as he is in the Shadow Shuriken Technique, you are still able to perform the move consistently.
Technique Learned: Shadow Shuriken Technique
Chakra Cost: 50
Description: The user throws a single shuriken towards the enemy. As the enemy begins to dodge or try to deflect it, the shuriken shadow clones into numerable copies of itself. Its power revolves around deception.
During the week, Minato also helped trained you to become faster. To your surprise, and possibly due to the weight training, you realized that you were already naturally faster than Minato! The reason he out-sped you during your fight was because he was using a technique to temporarily amplify his movements to super-human levels. You quickly learned this technique.
Technique Learned: Body Flicker
Chakra Cost: 25
Description: By channeling a large amount of chakra towards the user’s feet, the shinobi can temporarily move at a nearly untraceable speed. To the untrained eyes, it would look exactly like teleportation. --
“Wow Ardal…you really are amazing aren’t you?” Minato compliments wearily, sweat dripping down his forehead. “Only a week and you’ve already managed to learn two of my best techniques!”
You say nothing in response to his compliment, mostly because you are too exhausted to form any coherent words. A nod is all you give him.
“…I wonder if my speed can still keep up with you, though.” Minato wonders out-loud before giving a devious smile.”Th-“
His words are suddenly cut-off as you flawlessly flicker behind him, your hands pointing a kunai directly at the back of his skull. He turns his head slightly towards you, surprise engraved into his blue eyes.
“Probably, not.” You answer truthfully as you lower the weapon. Minato says nothing at first, but a huge smile begins to extend across his face before laughing, “I think I have just made a dangerous rival.”
You unconsciously smile at his words, he may not be so bad after all.
As you open your mouth to say something, you hear a familiar voice shout from a distance.
“BRAT! GET OVER HERE!” A husky, female voice orders from behind you.
You quickly turn around and see that your whole team - Shikaku, Inoichi, and Tsunade – are waiting for you.
“Go, I think were about done here anyways.” Minato says. “I’ll see you tomorrow for the mission, alright?”
You give a short nod before walking to your team. --
As you make your way towards them, it becomes increasingly obvious that you were not the only one who benefited from the previous two months.
Shikaku about an inches taller, and his once lanky build is now embroidered with a fair amount of muscle. The silver coin he is so fond about is now tied around his neck through a lace, his forehead-protector now proudly worn in the appropriate place.
Inoichi seems to have undergone a similar transformation; he has also become taller and grown a fair amount of muscle. You notice, however, that there is now a rather large scar running down his temple.
“What happened to your face?” You ask as you unsubtly stare at the scar.
Shikaku gives a small chuckle before nudging Inoichi’s shoulder.
“Told you he’d ask.”
“It’s nice to see you too.” Inoichi replies, completely ignoring your question. “I saw what you did back there to Minato; you’ve gotten a lot faster.”
“Enough talking.” Tsunade orders, with a hint of urgency in her voice. “We have our first mission.”
“The joint-mission with team Jiraiya?” You ask curiously. “Shouldn’t they be briefed with us?”
To your surprise, Tsunade firmly shakes her head.
“No, that mission is now history. We have a more pressing matter at hand.” Tsunade replies simply.
You and your teammates look nervously at each other before returning your eyes towards your sensei.
“Two days ago, five men raided a small village about thirty miles east of Konoha. They were presumably Shinobis, most likely missing-nins, because the Chunin assigned to patrol that area was killed in the attack….along with seven others.” Tsunade explains gravely.
You widen your eyes in surprise at the news. For an attack to be so close to home…
“So why are they sending a team of Genins to investigate?” Shikaku questions loudly, interrupting your train of thought. “These five men managed to kill a CHUNIN! What the hell are we supposed to do against them?”
“I am going with you.” Tsunade answers in an apathetic way. “I do not intend for you to fight these men…you will be doing a secondary task.” Tsunade adds as she reaches into her pocket and hands you something thin and papery: it’s a picture of a girl about your age.
“Her name is Shizune. She was living in the village during the attack, I need you to help me find her.” Tsunade explains a hint of worry in her voice.
You and your teammates look observantly at the picture, the girl in the picture is smiling rather heavily….it is obvious she has some personal connections with Tsunade.
“We will be leaving early tomorrow morning.” Tsunade says emotionlessly as she turns around from you three. “I will be at the city gate waiting for you, dismissed!”
At her last words, she disappears inside a small cloud of white smoke.
“I wonder who that girl is?” Shikaku wonders out-loud as the last of the smoke begins to vanish. He holds the picture up to the sun before adding, “She’s kinda cute in the right light.”
Inoichi snatches the picture from his hand before placing it into his pocket. “Doesn’t matter who she is; our mission is to find her. I’ll see you tomorrow morning.” He adds before walking away from you two without a second glance.
“He’s become rather serious hasn’t he?” You whisper quietly to Shikaku.
“Yeah, hanging out with Danzo will do that to you.” Shikaku answers with a sigh. A few seconds later, after Inoichi is out of sight, he scoffs rather loudly. “Forget him! Let’s go hang out at the usual spot; the old man’s taught me some tricks I’ve been dying to show-off!”
A) “Nah, I’m going to go home and get ready for tomorrow.” (- Disp Shikaku) B) “I’m going to go see what’s wrong with Inoichi.” (-Disp Shikaku, ? Disp Inoichi) C) “Lets go investigate about this mysterious girl instead.” (? Shikaku) D) “Ok.” (+Disp Shikaku)
